Hertford House Hotel was built in the early seventies by the Association and was then the first purpose built hotel for people with disabilities.
The Hotel accommodation currently consists of nine twin rooms and four single rooms but plans are in hand to increase the number of single rooms available within the next two to three years. All rooms have a wash basin, television with remote control and facilities for tea and coffee making. There are emergency call points on hand to alert staff in case of difficulty.
The dining room is supported by a creative kitchen team who are constantly changing the menu. Special diets can be catered for with prior notice.
The modern bathrooms include bath hoist, wheelchair accessible shower, warm air body dryer and electrically operated wash and dry toilet.
Free accessible transport every Saturday is provided between the Association's headquarters in Welwyn Garden City and the Hotel.
Other services available at the Hotel are: Laundry Service, the cost of which is displayed in each bedroom, a gift shop, minibus, a beach hut on the sea front and a licensed bar. Live entertainment is provided most evenings.
Equipment available for the comfort of the guests includes wheelchairs for outside us, handrails and ancillary equipment. Electric wheelchairs and scooters, if normally used, are accepted. All areas of the hotel are wheelchair accessible.
Guide dogs are welcome with prior notice.
